Why upskill your workforce?

Training helps your business, and your employees, grow

Technology and business are evolving at a rapid pace. With 87% of companies reporting a skills mismatch now or in the near future, workforce needs are quickly changing.1

At the same time, it’s becoming harder for businesses to attract and retain talent. Those who create growth opportunities for their employees have a much better shot at retaining them.2

With Google Career Certificates, you can fuel opportunities for your business, and create new opportunities for your workforce.

  • Improve retention: Low pay and a lack of opportunities for advancement were the top two reasons why Americans quit their jobs last year.3 According to Gallup, the cost of replacing an individual employee can range from half to 2x the employee’s annual salary.4
  • Increase employee engagement: Employees who move into new roles internally are 3.5x more likely to be engaged employees than those who stay in their current jobs.5
  • Attract new talent: Job seekers rank the “opportunity to learn” among their top reasons for taking a job.6 And 53% of Americans say they would switch to a new industry if they could retrain for a new role.7
  • Build new capabilities that can fuel growth: Some business-critical disciplines are in such high demand that they outpace the supply of skilled workers. Building these capabilities from within allows businesses to gain these skills and grow existing talent.
