Small businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the Golden Horseshoe area joined us at Hamilton Central Library, transforming the fourth floor into a big digital skills classroom.

Attendees were inspired by the success of Mabel’s Labels, which began in a Hamilton basement and is now known by parents everywhere! The company initially grew via word of mouth, but today uses digital tools, like Google Search Ads, to boost awareness.

As part of the day, a partnership was announced to help skill seekers across Canada prepare for entry-level roles in IT support. Starting in January 2019, 500 scholarships for the Google IT Support Professional Certificate will be available across Canada. Hamilton Public Library is one of four libraries where scholarship recipients can get in-person support during the training program.
