COURSE 1 • 19 HOURS
In this course, you will learn about the field of user experience (UX) design, explore job opportunities and career paths within the field, and review common job responsibilities and research methods used in UX design. This course is the first in a series of seven courses that will equip you with the skills needed to apply to entry-level jobs in UX design.
COURSE 2 • 21 HOURS
In this course, you’ll kick off the design thinking framework and learn how to empathize with users — understand their pain points, define their needs, and develop potential solutions. You’ll also start designing a mobile app to include in your professional portfolio.
COURSE 3 • 17 HOURS
In this course, you’ll continue designing a mobile app by creating storyboards, paper and digital wireframes. You’ll then build a low-fidelity prototype in Figma.
COURSE 4 • 20 HOURS
In this course, you’ll learn how to plan and conduct a usability study to gather feedback on designs and modify your low-fidelity designs based on research insights.
COURSE 5 • 29 HOURS
In this course, you’ll build high-fidelity, interactive prototypes in Figma, conduct research to collect insights and make improvements, and learn how to share designs with development teams.
COURSE 6 • 22 HOURS
In this course, you’ll progress along the design thinking framework by designing a responsive website using Figma and engage in design critique sessions to receive feedback. By the end of the course, you’ll have another project to include in your UX portfolio.
COURSE 7 • 24 HOURS
In the final course, you’ll apply the entire design thinking framework — from empathizing to testing — to develop a dedicated mobile app and responsive website focused on social good. You’ll also polish your professional UX portfolio and get interview tips from Google experts.

When you enroll in the Google UX Design Certificate, you'll explore the design process, including empathizing with users, defining their pain points, coming up with ideas for design solutions, creating wireframes and prototypes, and testing designs to get feedback.
You'll learn these job-ready skills in our certificate program through interactive content (discussion prompts, quizzes, and activities) in under six months, with 5-10 hours of study a week. Along the way, you'll work through a curriculum designed with input from industry leaders and top employers, like Figma, Adobe XD, Deloitte, Cognizant and Accenture. You'll even create a portfolio that includes three projects to share with potential employers to showcase the skills you learned in this program.
After you've graduated from the program, you'll have access to career resources and be connected directly with employers hiring for open entry-level roles in UX design.
Figma and Adobe XD are the design tools taught in the Google UX Design Certificate program. Spreadsheets, word processing applications, and presentation applications will also be used. The Google UX Design Certificate was designed and built by subject-matter experts and senior practitioners at Google. This certificate has been created to equip learners with theoretical and practical knowledge and real-life problem-solving skills to be successful in an entry-level user experience (UX) designer job. Expert industry organizations and platforms like Figma, among others, consulted and collaborated on material.
The Google UX Design Certificates costs $49 USD per month on Coursera after an initial 7-day free trial period. All Google Career Certificates are completely self-paced. At about 10 hours of study per week, many learners complete a Google Career Certificate in three to six months.
