KiteDanmark uses Google Ads to take new markets by storm
In the last five years, KiteDanmark has established itself as one of Scandinavia's leading online stores for kitesurfing and longboards. Its little shop on Uplandsgade in Amager and online store are bulging with quality equipment for surfers. Thanks to Google Ads, KiteDanmark has taken the Danish market by storm: "Initially, 70% of our sales came from Google Ads: that figure is lower today, because many customers know us and go direct to our site, but it's still giving us a steady market share," says partner Tomas Schødt. “We can double our sales in a day if we want to.” Advertising has also been a particularly effective channel for the international development of the company, as KiteDanmark has just broken into the German, French and Spanish markets, and has had to hire more staff to handle the orders as time goes by. “Google Ads is transparent, and we can see what we’re getting for our money. We use it to get into new markets: but that doesn't mean we stop using it once we've got a foothold. We're strongest in longboards, for instance, so we're always running a full campaign on those, so that customers find us first,” Schødt finishes.
