Android drives success for MyCarTracks

MyCarTracks is an advanced vehicle-tracking solution for smartphones. Used by companies to effectively manage their fleets and optimize their operations, the handy app records drivers’ car journeys and sends key data to a user-friendly web application.

Developed on Android, MyCarTracks incorporates a series of innovative features, including the ability to detect and activate GPS only when users are actually driving, which significantly save battery life. “We chose to develop on Android because it gives you features and tools that other platforms just don’t have — there are so many more opportunities. Plus the fact that it is open and stable,” says Peter Kopcansky, CEO. “You can also easily find tons of support — there is always a community that can help you.” MyCarTracks is continually being improved thanks to customer feedback, and the app’s development team always looks forward to releasing new Android features that can help to improve the user experience even more.

Peter believes that Android has played a significant role in getting MyCarTracks to where it is today, and will constitute an important part of its future journey. “With Google Play, MyCarTracks is now available to download worldwide. We can put the app on one store and get customers from across the globe,” he says. “And because Android is available on so many affordable smartphones, there is a much bigger market for us.”
